Brian Dustin (MainePhotoGuy) > September 2 - "Ugly Anne" is one of many vessels that call Perkin's Cove, Maine their home port. I love the marina village here just south of Ogunquit. The reflection in the water is great, too.
Brian Dustin (MainePhotoGuy) > January 20 – Portland Head Light in Cape Elizabeth, Maine has been called “the most photographed lighthouse in North America.” I love this lighthouse which was constructed between 1787 and 1791 at the directive of George Washington. Because it is so well known, I have hesitated to use it as a subject for my daily picture. The new snow, however, gave me a reason, as I had not seen it myself covered in snow. You can see more pictures in my Lighthouses gallery. Near the center of the picture Ram Island Ledge Light can be seen.
Brian Dustin (MainePhotoGuy) > July 16th - Today is the first day of vacation. We are camping in the mountains of eastern Pennsylvania. This is a photo of thelocal stream and small waterfall. I like the cotton candy effect of the water as well as the clarity of the reflection above the falls.
Brian Dustin (MainePhotoGuy) > October 26 - After a few days with no time to pick up my camera, today I am back at it. Last night a storm blew across Maine on its way out to sea leaving behind a beautiful day. Maine is not known for high waves, unless a windy storm is right offshore blowing in just the right directon. In this shot, I am standing in the shadow of the Old Orchard Beach pier which is the shadow in the lower right. The land in the distance is Prout's Neck in Scarborough. A kayaker landed on shore after fighting the heavy surf just shaking his head.
Brian Dustin (MainePhotoGuy) > January 2 - I wanted to share one more from New Year's Eve. I took several exeperimental shots of the Christmas tree. This 8 second exposure allowed me to zoom all the way in and back out during the exposure giving me this neat effect.
Brian Dustin (MainePhotoGuy) > June 11th - I did not have much time to take pictures today. We picked up my step-daughter today and her train was almost 45 minutes late. That did give me a few minutes to photograph the empty platform as the sun went down, though. I really don't like the electric wires but they would be difficult for me to get rid of so I just accept what is there.
Brian Dustin (MainePhotoGuy) > May 4 - Several members of the church where I work go out of their way to keep the front yard pretty. These are some pansies that are in bloom.
Brian Dustin (MainePhotoGuy) > December 12 – In case you didn’t hear it on the news, we had an ice storm up here in the northeast. We had a power outage where I got to spend the night in an elementary school gym with my kids so we didn’t freeze. Not to be put in a sour mood, I found nature’s beauty through my camera lens.
